Project Title
The Relationships of People and Nature in Northern Pakistan and the Impact of Development on this Affiliation
Description
My thesis studies the local relationship between people and nature in Pakistan’s northern areas and the impact of economic development on this affiliation. It explores how people imagine and relate to nature. Narrating stories, and poetry, and looking into the traditional rituals will bring forward underrepresented local wisdom, conservation methods, and cosmological understandings. In the rapidly changing landscape of Pakistan, this research will help in understanding indigenous practices of ecologies. This study will open up new prospects of thinking for development practitioners and policymakers by looking at development and conservation through the lens of local communities.
